There are two options to access the easy Ernie Maxwell Trail near the cabin. The first, and easiest, is to drive to the southern end of the trail 1.4 miles away.

The other is to walk up the steep road across the street (or you can drive from the cabin), park at the end, and walk up a private road and across a gate. You will see a large water tank. Stay to the right of the tank, and a small trail will take you to the main trail. Turn left to continue all the way to Humber Park, or turn right for a shorter trail to the southern terminus.
